Fundraise for Cape Ivy

Turn your idea into comfort for a child

Fundraising for Cape Ivy doesn’t have to be complicated. A group of friends, a school club, a neighborhood, a workplace or a community organization can come together to raise money for ponchos and help children in their own communities and beyond.

Whether you organize an event, collect donations or simply ask friends and family to support Cape Ivy, every fundraiser helps provide warmth, comfort and support to children facing medical treatment.

Student Fundraising

A guide created by students, for students.

Cape Ivy’s high school volunteer team developed a community fundraising guide as part of a DECA competition project. The guide provides ideas and practical suggestions for students who want to turn a school project, activity or personal interest into a fundraiser for Cape Ivy.

Students can choose an idea that fits their school, club, team or community and make it their own. A fundraiser can be as simple as collecting donations from friends and family or as creative as organizing a sale, event or challenge.

The Cape Ivy Student Fundraising Guide was created by our high school volunteer team as part of a DECA competition project. We are grateful for the time, creativity and effort they put into helping others learn how they can support Cape Ivy.

Gather Your Community

Fundraising is better together.

You don’t need to organize a large event to make a difference. Gather a few friends, neighbors or members of a group you’re already part of and choose Cape Ivy as your cause.

Consider asking your:

  • Book club
  • Mahjong or game group
  • Neighborhood
  • Scout troop
  • Service club
  • Social club
  • Church or community group
  • School or youth organization
  • Workplace or professional group

A group can collect donations, sponsor a shipment of ponchos or choose a local hospital or medical facility to support.

Fundraise Your Way

The best fundraisers often start with something people already enjoy doing.

Birthday Fundraiser
Ask friends and family to make a donation instead of buying a birthday gift.

Neighborhood Fundraiser
Organize a small neighborhood collection, gathering or community fundraiser.

Bake Sale or Yard Sale
Turn a bake sale, yard sale or other casual event into ponchos for children.

Lemonade Stand
A classic fundraiser for children and families—and a simple way to introduce younger children to giving back.

Book Club, Mahjong or Game Night
Collect donations from your group or make Cape Ivy the beneficiary of an evening together.

In Lieu of Gifts
Ask guests to make a donation to Cape Ivy instead of bringing gifts for a birthday, anniversary, shower or other celebration.

School or Youth Group Fundraiser
A class, club, scout troop or student organization can choose Cape Ivy as its cause.

Workplace Fundraiser
Invite coworkers to contribute around a holiday, special event or workplace celebration.

Team Fundraiser
Raise money as part of a walk, run, tournament or other team activity.

Craft or Creative Sale
Sell handmade items, artwork, baked goods or other creations and donate the proceeds.

Holiday Fundraiser
Make Cape Ivy the beneficiary of a holiday collection, party or community activity.

Challenge Fundraiser
Set a goal and invite friends and family to help reach it. For example: “Let’s raise $500 to help provide ponchos to children.”

Fundraise Online

Share Cape Ivy with your friends & family.

Social media makes it easy to invite people to support Cape Ivy, whether you’re celebrating a birthday, reaching a personal goal or simply looking for a way to help.

You can start a fundraiser through Facebook or Instagram, share your reason for supporting Cape Ivy, and invite friends and family to participate.

You can also share Cape Ivy’s posts and information about the mission with your own social networks.

Sponsor a Local Hospital

Make your fundraiser local.

Want to make your fundraiser especially meaningful? Consider raising enough to sponsor a shipment of ponchos for a children’s hospital, pediatric infusion center, Ronald McDonald House or other medical facility in your community.

Cape Ivy can work with you to designate your donation to a facility of your choice. This gives your group a tangible connection to the children your fundraiser is helping.
